How can I file a report in Benilde for cases on
Sexual Harrassment?

STEP 1

Visit the Center of Restorative Discipline (CRD) office, and request for a complaint form. There is a CRD Office located inside all Benilde campuses.

STEP 2

Fill out the form and have it notarized. This is vital, as this case will involve legal proceedings and will be part of the Philippines, not just for Benilde.

1.

The CRD will first assess if the case falls under sexual harassment. If so, the case will then be directed to the Gender and Development (GAD) office.

2.

The CRD will then assess if the case falls under sexual harassment. If so, the case will then be directed to the Gender and Development office.

3.

The CRD will also assess if the person being complained about or the respondent is a student. They will give a notice to explain to the respondent an overview of the complaint filed against them, to check if there is any merit to the complaint. The respondent has to respond to that.

4.

Once the documents from the CRD are compiled, the Committee of Decorum on Investigation (CODI) will be called out. They are the committee responsible for handling the hearings for the cases. The hearings will be organized and scheduled.

5.

The CODI will first organize a hearing with the complainant alone. Afterwards, the respondent will also be called for a separate hearing alone as well. All facts will be verified from both sides.

6.

The CRD will coordinate with the GAD center during the investigative process. They will help secure the statements needed. They would make sure to ask the supposed witnesses, in case there is a corroboration that needs to be investigated.

7.

Once everything has been heard from the complainant, the respondent, and witnesses, and all documents and evidence have been thoroughly reviewed, the CODI will decide whether the person responsible is liable or not. They will have to check if it meets the merits of the complaint.

Such reports can be accomadated however, it is highly recommended not to do so because it can make the case gathering process difficult. While confidentiality and safety is highly valued in these cases, it would make it easier to understand your background, know how to coordinate with you properly and know which key witnesses to contact with if you make your identity known.
